CAMPING
Camp site in the KI & Jo-Mary Multiple Use Forest
MooseKat
Guide Service encourages its spring and summer clients to camp while on
their fishing trip. Maine is home to some of the most scenic
lakes, rivers, and forests, all of which should be experienced to get a
true feeling of the magic of Maine. The bulk of the camping
MooseKat prefers are on North Maine Woods Land. This vast area
includes the endless forests between Moosehead Lake and Route 11 up to
Millinocket and along the Golden Road. This region offers
spectacular views of Mount Katahdin as well as some other mountains of
the Appalachian Mountain chain such as Chairback, Saddleback, and
Elephant Mountain. These remote sites are great places to truly
get away from it all as well as spend some time watching birds and
other wildlife.
We aim to make your camping experience as
comfortable and relaxing as possible. We'll cater to you --
cooking your meals, cleaning your fish, cleaning up meals, and
maintaining the fire at all times. We also do our best to provide
you with some entertainment besides fishing such as some traditional
camping games like cribbage, bocce ball, washers, and fris-by-fours.
Just bring your clothes and sleeping gear, we'll take care of the
rest. All you have to do is come along and relax.
If you have any preferences on a specific campsite
or a type of campsite, please let us know and we'd be happy to adjust
our itinerary to satisfy your needs. Consideration should be
given to where and what you like to fish for, as many of these
campsites are very remote on rough roads which can make transportation
to different fishing holes a very time-consuming process.
